We provide a person centred care approach, ensuring all of our residents feel safe, comfortable and constantly engaged. Our large residential senior care home is based in Shenley, Herts & is beautifully situated within 25 acres of attractive gardens.
Villa Scalabrini offers a multicultural and multiracial environment. Even though the majority our residents are from an Italian and English heritage, we also support individuals from a Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Brazilian, Maltese, French and all other backgrounds.
Main purpose of the role:
To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Individuals using a person-centred approach and observe and promote the Individual’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights by creating and maintaining good professional relationships with Individuals, their family and friends and other stakeholders.
- To provide personal care and support to Individuals with a wide range of needs, illnesses including dementia
- To know and understand the care and support of the Individual
- To undertake the tasks detailed in the Individual’s care and support plan using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive way
- To encourage the independence and motivation of the Individual and not foster dependent behaviour
- To assist Individuals getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
- To assist Individuals to wash, bath and shower
- To assist Individuals to dress and undress
- To assist Individuals to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails
- To assist Individuals with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene
- To use manual handling equipment safely and correctly
- To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the home
- To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with Individuals and colleagues
- To accompany Individuals for their appointments in hospital and elsewhere.
