What does this Support Worker job involve?

 

To assist our clients within the home, trips out and to become a trusted companion - 

Our focus is on:

 

  • Practical Support: assisting with laundry, light housework, tidying, shopping, preparing meals, paperwork
  • Emotional support: trips out, having a coffee and a chat to ease the loneliness felt by many elderly residents.

 

We do not provide personal care therefore you will not be required to support with dressing/undressing, showering or toileting.

 

Our Role

 

No two clients are the same, with differing practical and emotional needs, you may be cooking in one visit, undertaking some light housework the next, then off out for a trip the shops! Therefore, you will need be versatile, flexible and in good health/fit enough to undertake tasks such as the following:

 

  • Cooking
  • Light housework
  • Bed changing
  • Emptying bins/recycling
  • Wash up
  • Laundry
  • Ironing
  • Confident in driving clients to appointments and trips out
  • Walking

Mandatory Requirements

 

  • To have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS
  • You must possess a full UK driving licence, have your own transport and be willing to obtain Class 1 business insurance.
  • You must be willing to work a 1:4 weekends (or more if you are keen to!), this is in addition to the agreed weekly schedule of hours.
