What does this Mental Health Support Worker job involve?

 

  • Sleep-ins 2x per week
  • Providing support with household tasks.
  • Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
  • Supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks, and observing medication is being taken correctly.
  • Developing and implementing Support Plans
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
  • Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.

 

Am I the right person for this Mental Health Support Worker job?

 

  • Ideally, we would prefer experience, but that is not essential
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good telephone manner and a good level of spoken English
  • Observant and sensitive to a service user's needs
  • Ability to liaise with outside agencies and other professionals
