About the Company

 

Hightown is a charitable housing association (operating in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire) aiming to help people who need support and care or who cannot afford to buy or rent a home at market values. We do this by building hundreds of much needed new homes and providing care and supported housing services for a wide range of people.

The St Claire's service is designed to give people in housing need a safe and stable place to stay. Hightown Support offers temporary accommodation and support for people who need help to find a permanent home.

What does this Housing First Co-ordinator job involve?

 

  • You would be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering a flexible outreach service providing a personalised support service to people with complex needs in line with the Housing First principles.
  • You would be part of a team creating long term sustainable tenancies to help the most vulnerable people off the streets of St Albans.

  • You`ll be driven by the desire to make a difference and have the ability to understand the complex needs associated with those who have been street homeless for a considerate period of time.
  • Satisfactory DBS, reference and medical checks.
  • Experience of project management and/or monitoring referrals to community services and external partner agencies.
  • Experience of providing intensive case management and wrap-around support and advocacy to service users.
  • Acting calmly and responding professionally in stressful and difficult situations.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
