We at Camphill Village Trust are looking for a Support Worker for our Supported Living service at Delrow Community in Aldenham (near Watford). We are an award-winning national charity supporting people with learning and other disabilities. What does this Support Worker job involve?

 

Under the Team Leader's guidance, you'll offer support and care to enhance the wellbeing and development of those we support, following their personalised plans. Record and assess progress as directed, helping them achieve independence, choice, inclusion, and control.

 

Day-to Day Duties:

  • Encourage cleanliness and a welcoming living space.
  • Assist with laundry and clothing care.
  • Plan and cook healthy meals based on preferences.
  • Arrange and attend medical appointments with the people we support.
  • Support budgeting, finance management, and access benefits.
  • Foster an active social life for tenants.
  • Provide personal care and administer medication as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure tenants' financial and housing-related needs are met.

 

Am I the right person for this Support Worker job?

 

  • You will preferably have experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and distressed behaviours/emotions. However, this is not essential as training will be given.
  • You’ll have a general education, good numeracy, and literacy skills to be able to complete official documentation to a professional standard.
  • You will have a general knowledge of IT skills.
  • Driving License is desirable but not essential, if you live locally.
