About the Company

 

The Triangle Garden is a community garden in Ransom’s Recreation Ground, Hitchin, Herts.  Our facilities also include a community building and several allotments. Our key therapeutic projects are Growing Ability, a social therapeutic horticulture project for adults with learning disabilities, Garden Club, and New Shoots, supported volunteering to improve physical and mental wellbeing. This role is a 1:1 role for a specific person we support who comes to the gardens to do therapeutic gardening, artwork and cooking.

The hours are offered on a weekly basis as a 1:1 for an individual that attends the gardens and will mirror this individual’s attendance.

 

What does this Support Worker job involve?

 

Day to day duties include:

  • Assisting the individual to get involved with cooking activities, artwork and gardening activities on a 1:1 basis.
  • You will be working with someone with learning disabilities, who is verbal, but with some communication barriers.
  • No personal care is needed
  • Some help with eating (such as preparing drinks and opening wrappers) will be needed.
