- Provide individual care based on written Care Plans under the supervision of trained nurses or Nurse Assistants.
- Maintain residents’ dignity and promote respectful, compassionate care at all times.
- Assist with meals, including serving and supporting residents during mealtimes.
- Support residents’ rehabilitation and help welcome new residents and their families.
- Assist trained staff in caring for ill residents and report any accidents or incidents promptly.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
- Perform minor housekeeping tasks during night shifts when time allows.
- Follow all home policies and procedures, and carry out additional tasks as requested.
NIGHT CARE ASSISTANTS
In addition to the above, a number of aspects apply to night shifts: -
- Care Assistants work under the direct supervision of the Night Registered Nurse (RN), who is responsible for the whole Home.
- Minor ancillary tasks (e.g., tidying day rooms and sorting store rooms) may be required, when time permits between care duties.
