What does this Live in Carer job involve?

 

As a live-in carer, your role will involve providing personalised support to help your client live independently and comfortably at home. Your daily duties include:

 

  • Some Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting (Client is able to do the majority of this independantly).
  • Household Tasks: Light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Companionship: Providing emotional support and engaging in meaningful conversations.
  • Medication Support: Helping with reminders or administering medications as required.
  • Mobility Assistance: Supporting clients with moving around the house or using mobility aids.
  • Errands and Appointments: Shopping for essentials or accompanying the client to appointments.

The suitable candiate must:

  • Provide a calm and attentive support, adapting to the client’s individual needs.
  • Have a positive attitude and to approach challenges with enthusiasm and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Be flexibile and adaptable to varying schedules and client needs.
  • Be able to support client to arrange and attend social and medical appointment 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Good English speaking and writing skills essential
  • Experience: Prior experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Qualifications: HSC equivalent NVQ2 or above (Preferred)
  • Right to Work: You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • DBS Check: A clear DBS check is required (we can assist with this process).
