Freedom Care (Herts) are a small family owned business based in Stanstead Abbotts. We provide a service out in the community visiting clients in their own homes. We support clients that have Dementia, physical disabilities, age related health conditions, End of Life. We like our clients to be treated as we would like our own family member to be treated. We have an open door policy and are always open and transparent with clients and staff.

What does this Care Assistant job involve?

 

Our duties can vary depending on the client we go out to. These may include:

 

  • Personal care
  • Administering oral medication
  • Prepping of meals and drinks
  • Incontinence care
  • Companionship
  • Respite breaks for the main family carer to go out for a couple of hours
  • Light housework
  • Access the community for appointments, clubs, church,or just going out for coffee.
  • We have a duty of care to ensure that all our clients are safe in their homes and report any concerns to enable the client to get the right support.
  • Overnight sits to give families some respite when they are looking after their loved one 24/7.

 

Am I the right person for this Care Assistant job?

 

  • No experience or formal training is required as we will support with this
  • Have a full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Compassionate, has empathy, a good communicator who can listen, engage and record all information
  • Clear spoken and written english is required
  • A passion to help people feel empowered, safe and remain as independent as possible so that they can continue living in their own home
