Benslow Nursing Home is a 32 bedded nursing home, part of the Benslow care home group formulated in 1982 by Stephen and Susan McQuinn.  We have small care homes, creating a warm home from home environment where we deliver person centred care with empathy and respect. 

 

We are now looking for an Activities Co-ordinator to join our team to plan group and one to one activities that deliver great interest and outcomes for the people we support and care for.

What does this Activities Coordinator job involve?

 

  • You will encourage and support social inclusion and community integration and support the manager with community events held at the home also.
  • You will work with the key worker to ensure we meet the interests of the residents.  You will gain feedback from residents and adapt activities to their current likes and dislikes.
  • You wll be a team player and work with care assistants who are also engaging with the residents on a day to day basis and will assist in delivery support for these activities.
  • You will plan group activities and organise the booking of entertainment, the purchase of materials etc.
  • You will organise community activities and arrange transport/checks.
  • You will record activities in the Person Centred software for the individual residents.
  • You will assist in formulating a monthly newsletter for residents and relatives and ensure material and photographs have consent to share agreements in place.
