What does this Cook job involve?

 

Day-to-Day Duties:

 

  • Planning, preparing and serving meals that are nutritious, balanced, and suited to residents’ needs
  • Adapting meals for special dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, soft diets, fortified meals)
  • Ensuring meals are presented well and mealtimes are enjoyable experiences
  • Working with the care team to support residents’ individual preferences and cultural needs
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and compliant with food hygiene regulations
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and reducing food waste
  • Supporting themed meals, family occasions, and special events in the home
  • Following health & safety procedures and maintaining accurate records (temperature checks, cleaning logs, etc.)
  • Being flexible and creative to make mealtimes something residents look forward to
