Ashlyns Care Home, part of the B&M Care Group in Berkhamsted is looking for a Homes Maintenance Operative to ensure that duties relating to regulatory compliance and the upkeep of the home are undertaken in accordance with B&M Care’s ‘Homes Maintenance Operative Guide to Mandatory Duties and Supplementary Tasks’.  To work in line with the B&M Rose Model of Dementia Care.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Ensure that all fire safety, water safety, call bell and property checks are carried out in line with company policies and guidelines; 
• Basic home maintenance;
• Moving of home furniture and equipment;
• Ensure company vehicle checks and maintenance is carried out as per company policy and guidelines;
• Maintaining flower beds, borders and hanging baskets and watering as well as cutting the grass when necessary;
• Cleaning drives and pathways to keep clean and tidy from leaves and other items as well as gritting and snow clearance during inclement weather and cleaning of low-level gutters;
• Maintenance of outdoor furniture;
• Maintenance of water features, where present;
• Ensure utility meter readings are taken when requested; and
• To deal with the waste disposal in accordance with health & safety and infection control procedures.

Essential attributes:

• Must hold a full driving license.
• Must be able to provide your own basic tools.
