About the Company

Oxygen Detox Service is Druglink’s Inpatient Detoxification Project. We are a 7 single bedroom detox dedicated to care for men and women, aged 18 years and upwards, who are seeking help with their problems associated with substance misuse. To deliver excellent drug and alcohol interventions to service users including the significant others in the plan, to maximise positive outcomes. Where indicated, provide Alcohol, Opiate and any other substance detoxification support and management including liaising with hospital and community partners.

What does this Nurse Clinical Lead job involve?

The Lead Nurse will form part of the senior management team within the service, working closely with the Service Manager and Lead Doctor to provide and develop high quality clinical service provision, with specific responsibility for Nursing Services. The Lead Nurse will provide Clinical Supervision & operational line management to Nurses and HCAs within the Service.

 

  • Deliver harm reduction advice, guidance, and education. To include blood borne virus interventions (screening, vaccination, and treatment access), overdose prevention including naloxone programmes, health and wellbeing screening brief and facilitated signposting and referral to partner services, including primary care.
  • Provide high quality, person centred, low threshold services, responding to the individual and diverse needs and preferences of our service users and their significant others.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical and psychosocial one-to-one and group interventions as part of an effectively integrated care package. Taking an assertive approach to service user disengagement.
  • Enable service users to access education and employment services and health, wellbeing, and recovery support activities and to signpost to other available services.
  • Support students, volunteers, peer mentors and service user representatives to take an active part in Druglink services.Maintain accurate and timely records using the designated case management system in compliance with Druglink’s information Governance policies and procedures.
  • Work flexibly, including across multiple sites and peripatetically if required.
  • Ensure services delivered conform to the operational policy and procedures of Druglink.
  • Reviewing and revising policies to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice guidelines, leading to the best results possible for the service users
  • Ensure service delivery meets both contractual and Service Level Agreements; and conforms to the most recent legislation and CQC standards.

 

Am I the right person for this Nurse Clinical Lead job?

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working directly with clients in substance misuse treatment .as well as knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements; National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS); NICE standards and guidance for Residential Rehabilitation. The post holder will understand the complex nature of substance misuse treatment.The post holder will be a Registered nurse (RMN, RGN or Learning Disabilities Nurse) with an active PIN number and ensuring that revalidation requirements are met and effectively communicated.
  • Experience of supervising staff or volunteers
  • Experience of formulating comprehensive risk assessments, care planning and reviewing client care
  • An understanding of mental health and social services and knowledge of a wide range of statutory and voluntary support agencies 
  • Ability to provide leadership and model a highly flexible approach to rapidly changing priorities and involve and support colleagues to achieve wider organisational objectives. 
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders and services using liaison and networking skills
