This role provides day-to-day operational and care management support to the Harpenden branch. You’ll oversee the smooth running of client care, support our care team, ensure documentation is accurate, and help maintain a high standard of service across visiting care and live?in packages.
The Care Manager works closely with both the Deputy Registered Manager and Registered Manager. You will play a key part in maintaining quality, coordination, and communication across the branch.
Care Management & Service Oversight
- Support the RM/Deputy RM in daily service delivery and client care.
- Handle queries, welfare checks, and monitor service changes accurately.
Client Documentation & Quality
- Create, update, and maintain care plans, risk assessments, and client files.
- Ensure documentation, MAR charts, and incident logs are accurate and audit?ready.
Supporting the Care Team
- Provide guidance, schedule supervisions/training, and monitor compliance.
- Assist with onboarding and promote a positive team environment
Coordination & Operational Support
- Work with coordinators on rotas, capacity checks, and urgent cover.
- Maintain clear records and support weekend/on?call duties when required.
Communication & Professional Relationships
- Build strong relationships with clients, carers, families, and professionals.
- Provide clear updates and represent the branch professionally.
Person Specification – Essential
- Experience in domiciliary care.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Warm, confident communicator who is calm under pressure.
- Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
- Good IT skills (Outlook, care systems, digital notes).
- Team-focused and supportive working style.
- Professional, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.
Person Specification – Desirable
- Experience writing or updating care plans.
- Understanding of CQC expectations in homecare.
- Previous senior carer, coordinator or care supervisor experience.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
