What does this Registered Manager job involve?

 

 

CQC Compliance & Governance

 

  • Registration with CQC and key point of liaison. Prepare for and manage CQC inspections.
  • Maintain full compliance with the Health and Social Care Act, CQC Fundamental Standards, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, audits, and records are accurate and up to date.
  • Act as Lead on Safeguarding
  • Act as Lead on Data Protection

 

Service Management & Quality

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of a high quality homecare service.
  • Continuously monitor quality of care delivered and implement improvements.
  • Conduct spot checks, assessments, and care plan reviews when required.
  • Effectively manage complaints and incidents; carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service and use findings to make improvements and identify any training needs
  • Conduct assessments and create high-quality person-centred care plans.

 

Staff Leadership

 

  • Line manage the Operations and Compliance Manager and Senior Carers, provide leadership of overall team.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new carers, ensuring all mandatory training and compliance are maintained.
  • Deliver supervisions, appraisals, and coaching.
  • Build a positive team culture that encourages retention and performance; including chairing team meetings and encouraging team development.

 

Capacity Planning and business development

 

  • Oversee rostering of care to ensure safe and reliable care delivery.
  • Ensure continuity of care, appropriate matching of carers to clients, and efficient roster planning.
  • Support sustainable growth within existing areas and consider expansion plans.
  • Contribute to tenders, contracts, and marketing initiatives.
  • Help develop and implement business and operational plans.

 

Relationship management

 

  • Build trust and strong communication with staff team and clients/families.
  • Build strong relationships with Essex and Hertfordshire local authority social work teams, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and community partners.

 

Operational & Financial Oversight

 

  • Managing marketing of the business and proactively managing enquiries from potential clients and carers.
  • Monitor KPIs: hours delivered, staff retention, punctuality, complaints, audits, and compliance.
  • Manage staff rosters, holiday planning, and workforce capacity. The post holder will be on call 5pm-8pm two evenings a week and Senior Manager on Call for some weekends.
  • Work with the director on budgeting, payroll oversight, and cost management

Essential experience:

  • Commitment to respecting the rights of clients at all times and to promoting their privacy, dignity and independence throughout their lives
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in domiciliary care at Deputy Manager or Registered Manager level.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and care planning.
  • Experience managing and developing staff teams in a care environment.
  • Excellent communication skills. Experience of building positive working relationships with people who use services and their families, staff and other health and social care professionals
  • Strong IT skills
  • Experience of budget management and financial planning
  • Full drivers licence with no more than 3 points and Class 1 Business Insurance

 

Desirable

 

  • Previous experience growing a domiciliary care service.
  • Experience working with local authorities and commissioning teams.
  • Experience of using Nourish care planning system
