About the Company

 

We require a Senior Care Assistant to lead our care team to provide the highest standard of care and compassion. Working closely with the Carers and the Registered Manager, you will be carrying out care in the community, coaching and mentoring your team whilst identifying training needs, developing and implementing and updating care plans and adhering to CQC guidelines.

Senior care workers routinely oversee and monitor care workers, care assistants and home carers. They also attend to the personal needs and comforts of the elderly and the infirm with care and support needs (‘service users’) within residential care establishments, day care establishments or in their own homes.

What does this Senior Care Assistant job involve?

 

  • Oversee and monitor care workers and home carers;
  • Take responsibility for the shift and for the service;
  • Respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support to care workers;
  • Assist and enable service users with supporting with personal care;
  • Serve meals to service users and assist with nutritional needs if required;
  • Generally assist with service users’ overall comfort and well being;
  • Provide interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user;
  • Help with daily activities such as letter writing, paying bills, collecting benefits;
  • Undertake light cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation as required;
  • Monitor service users’ conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contributes to record keeping;
  • Liaise with professional staff in implementing care plans, risk assessments etc.

 

Am I the right person for this Senior Care Assistant job?

 

  • You are required to have experience as a Carer for this role. 
  • Senior care workers must be qualified to an appropriate level (usually NVQ Level 3), or willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3.
  • You must have at least 6 months experience as a Carer and have your own full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Full training will be provided.
  • A  full enhanced criminal check is also required for this role.
