About the Company

 

Little Grove is a social enterprise working with young people with a learning disability and/or autism. We work as a team with the young people in the running of the house - with everyone helping to keep it clean, do laundry, cook meals etc. By doing this we hope to provide the young people with an opportunity to further their independent living skills, increase their confidence and most importantly offer a place to hang out and socialise.  We are looking for passionate Support Workers in the Bushey area.

We also run social and learning activities during the daytimes, evenings and weekends as well as keeping in contact online.

At Little Grove, we are passionate about empowering young people and supporting them to reach their potential - the ethos behind the support we provide is ‘Do With, Not For’.

Due to an increase in demand for what we offer, we are looking to slowly build up our team enabling us to support more families in the area.

What does this Support worker job involve?

 

Each Shifts starts at 14:00 - 22:00 + Sleep-in from 22:00 - 06:00. Please note, this is not a waking night shift!

  • Supporting the young people to spend time with their friends, learn new skills and access the community. 
  • Help plan and make ideas come to life, for example - visiting Kew Gardens, learning the guitar or baking a birthday cake. 

A day could involve a trip out somewhere, an evening in helping a young person use PECS (visual symbols) to chat with a friend or cooking and having some lunch together. 

 

Am I the right person for this Support worker job?

 

  • Previous experience is preferred although not essential. Willing to work evenings and daytimes
