Burleigh House is a family run care home in the heart of Baldock, we support residents from the local community as well as out of county so that they can be close to their loved ones.

What does this Senior Care Practitioner (Nights) job involve?

 

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist the Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery. 
  • Act as Deputy in Manager’s Absence: Take full responsibility for the home’s operations when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Resident Health & Wellbeing: Monitor residents’ health, report changes promptly, and liaise with doctors, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Medication Oversight: Manage the safe ordering, administration, storage, and disposal of medication in line with the Medication Policy.
  • Care Planning: Write, maintain, and regularly review individual care plans, ensuring they reflect residents’ current needs.
  • Staff Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, support, and mentor care and non-care staff, acting as a point of reference for junior team members.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain open and timely communication with residents’ families and advocates, especially regarding health updates or incidents.
  • Keyworking Duties: Ensure keyworking responsibilities are carried out consistently and in accordance with company policy.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and maintain a safe, secure environment for both residents and staff.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold and represent the values and standards of the company at all times.
