We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to be accountable for the home and the residents, who will create a calm and secure atmosphere. Ensuring regular checks according to each resident’s individual needs, and leading the team on the floor.

What does this Senior Care Assistant job involve?

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Support the Manager, Deputy and Assistant Manager in the effective running of the home, including understanding contingency and emergency procedures

  • Lead waking handovers, ensure all residents are accounted for, and set a positive example to maintain a supportive, efficient atmosphere

  • Provide and oversee high-quality personal care with dignity and respect, supporting independence, mobility needs and residents’ use of the environment in line with care plans

  • Promote the company’s values of Commitment, Connection and Compassion, and encourage staff to demonstrate these behaviours

  • Support staff training and development, helping deliver and monitor the in?house training programme and promoting best practice

  • Observe, record and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional or psychological wellbeing, including nutrition, weight monitoring and skin integrity

  • Liaise with external professionals, implement required actions, and maintain accurate documentation using the Mobile Care Monitoring (MCM) system

  • Assist with menu planning, food presentation and mealtime support, ensuring residents’ dietary needs are met

  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment, including basic housekeeping tasks and ensuring residents’ clothing and personal items are cared for appropriately

  • Administer, record and store medication safely; welcome visitors; support admissions; contribute to care-plan reviews; and comply with safeguarding, CQC, Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems
