The Firs - Desborough Care are a Specialist care provider that has been set up with the focus of creating positive and person-centered pathways towards a more independent future.

The home is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, providing specialist services for adults requiring care and support with various forms of Learning Disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. 

Our accommodation is a large house in Potters Bar that has been converted into a 9 bed home to meet the challenging needs of adults with Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Each resident has their own single bedroom with en-suite facilities and access to the communal kitchen, living room, conservatory,  large garden and activity room.

What does this Care Assistant job involve?

Working as part of a team you will be supporting people with varying disabilities in our home to develop their independent living skills, access local communities, build relationships, along with participating in a range of activities within the community.

  • Responsible for team members

Am I the right person for this Care Assistant job?

 

  • We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us in delivering a high standard of care. You must have a calm approach, be able to show warmth and support to not only the resident but to their families as well. You will be responsible for the running of the home when on shift. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and able to use computer programmes Word and Excel, and be flexible in working.
  • Ideally you will hold NVQ level 3 but this is not essential as training will be provided
  • Must be authorised to work in the EEC
  • Driving is NOT required but is preferred
